This intensive three-day course is for anyone who wants to improve both their photography and their digital imaging skills. Limited to a small group of photographers, it will provide an interactive hands-on training in camera craft, composing and shooting images plus show you how to organise, edit and adjust your images on your computer.
Professional photographers Chris Coe & Nick Meers will guide you through the whole process, from preparing to shoot to outputting your images for both print and web. Nick and Chris have about 50 years of photographic experience between them, shooting everything from landscapes to cars, people to food, travel to architecture and abstracts to wildlife images. Their photography has taken them all over the world on commissioned work and stock shoots, photographing on film and digitally, in every format from 35mm to large format panoramics.
Image manipulation is an everyday part of the image creation process which starts with shooting your images properly to minimise computer processing.

Highlights
- Day 1 - shoot, review and refine day. The course will start with a session on what makes a good image. We'll show you how to get the most out of your camera so that it frees you up to be creative. For the rest of the day we'll be out shooting and putting the lessons learned into practice photographing a range of subjects. This day will help you to see and correct some of the mistakes you're making with your images and to tighten your compositions. It will also help you to select your best images and work out how you could have made them better when you took them so that you can put what you've learnt into practice. We'll include a session on shooting B&W images. To finish the day we'll take you through the process of editing your images.
- Day 2 - image manipulation day. This day will be about processing, adjusting, refining your images on the computer, but will start the day with an early morning shoot for those who are interested. After breakfast we'll be looking at some of software options for image manipulation then taking you through the process of manipulating your images to print and to publish on a website.
- The philosophy of this course is get it right in when you take the photograph to minimise what you need to do on your computer, but also understand the how you can improve your images when necessary using image manipulation software.
