On The Edge - Extreme Landscapes

Fancy a challenge? Want to do something different?

This is the course for you! It's unique and could get you some really unusual images.

On this very special course we'll get a different perspective on landscape and environmental photography. On board a high speed rigid inflatable boat, we'll get to very unusual places and views. If you shoot for stock this is a chance to get unique images with an environmental theme. If you shoot for fun you could get images that wow your friends and colleagues.

The Experience

Quite simply you won't find another photography course like this one. The experience alone is worth it and you'll have the opportunity to shoot some interesting images.

We'll be taking you on an adventure starting at the port of Felixstowe and travelling out through the port to the North Sea, then out to the off-shore gas rigs (weather permitting), a short journey for a boat which is capable of speed up to 50 knots!

A journey along the coast takes us to the beautiful landscape of Orford Ness with its impressive lighthouse and stunning architecture of the deserted Ministry of Defence buildings. Further up the coast we can go ashore to photograph the prehistoric Benacre Lake (a long hike if not accessed by boat) then back on board to travel further up the coast, past the seaside towns of Southwold and Lowestoft and Sizewell nuclear power station. Off-shore near Great Yarmouth is a huge and very impressive windfarm, presenting the opportunity to photograph these giant turbines from close up.

On Saturday evening you are invited to join us for dinner in the Crown Hotel and enjoy a meal of specially selected local produce. This area of Suffolk offers everything from oysters to cider, cheese to salt marsh lamb, and there's even a vineyard in Framlingham. It'll be a fun and tasty way to enjoy each other's company, talk and set the scene for the next day.
