Where fire meets the ocean and crimson skies meet the deep blue sea
August 26th – 31st, 2022
Come and join me for an amazing trip to Hawai’i’s Big island where we’ll be photographing nesting turtles, swimming and snorkelling with dolphins and manta rays. We’ll also be photographing the volcanoes and giant waterfall, plus doing some astrophotography of the night sky from the peak of one of the volcanoes.
I’ll be leading the trip for Chris Weston Photography and you can find more details and book a place on that website. Just follow this link: Wild Hawai’i

The lush, ecologically-diverse island of Hawai’i is the youngest and largest island in the Hawai’ian chain, hence its nickname “Big Island”. You can travel through all but four of the world’s different climate zones here, ranging from wet tropical to polar tundra, which is a result of the shielding effect and elevations of the two massive volcanoes Maunakea and Maunaloa. From the many geological features visible at Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park to the snow-capped heights of Maunakea and the lush valleys of the Hilo and Hamakua coasts, the island of Hawai’i is an unrivalled expression of the power of nature. It is also home to a wealth of marine wildlife, with wild dolphins and manta rays swimming and frolicking in the warm ocean waters, to turtles hauling out to nest on the jet-black sands of Punaluu Beach.
